Car servicing & repairs
Brake inspection and repair enquiries
Describe a braking concern to Raj and arrange an assessment before choosing replacement parts.

Speak directly with Raj, a mechanic with 20+ years of experience across India, Saudi Arabia and New Zealand, including eight years in NZ. ARM Cars welcomes servicing and repair enquiries across makes, including Japanese imports, European vehicles and other NZ-market cars.
Explain what changed
Tell Raj about a squeal, grinding sound, vibration, pulling or a change in pedal feel. Note whether the symptom appeared gradually or after recent work. These details help plan an inspection; a noise alone cannot establish which parts need replacing. If braking performance has changed or you suspect a serious fault, stop using the vehicle and discuss safe transport.
Inspection before the repair decision
Ask about assessment of the relevant brake components and what evidence supports a recommended repair. The work could differ between front and rear brakes and between vehicle variants. Have the registration and model ready so the correct configuration can be identified before parts are quoted.
Agree the scope and follow-up
Request a quote that distinguishes inspection, parts and labour. Ask what happens if further wear or damage is found once work begins. If you have an inspection rejection sheet, send a clear copy; repair work and an authorised WoF inspection are separate arrangements.
What to send with your enquiry
- Registration and vehicle model
- Exact symptom and when it occurs
- Any warning lights or inspection report
You can also send the enquiry form with photographs. Photos support the first conversation; inspection may still be needed before a reliable repair quote.
Local bookings and nearby visits
ARM Cars is based in Morven, serving Waimate District and nearby South Canterbury communities including Glenavy, Studholme, Willowbridge, Makikihi and St Andrews. Call before visiting. For a nearby mobile job, send the exact location so Raj can confirm access, travel charges and whether the work is suitable on site.
How much will it cost?
Pricing depends on the vehicle or machine, diagnosis, parts and agreed labour. Ask for the inspection charge, an estimate or quote for the proposed work, and the process for approving anything additional. An online enquiry is not a confirmed appointment.
